Sunday

Well you can see the party in the back is gone. We only cut it that way for a joke. We thought it would be funny to take pictures and pretend it was for real. I'm loving his new short hair. Greg had been wanting to cut it for at least a month now and I kept putting it off, but I really like it!
This is on our street, right outside our apartment . . .

A man in our ward told us there is this great park nearby us, so we went in search of it. It's just a 3 minute walk down our street and then we saw this trail and thought it might be it. It wound up thru these little old houses with little farms with gardens and horses. It was really cute!
We kept walking up, up, up and then . . .

There were trails EVERYWHERE you looked. We could walk any direction. It was SO BEAUTIFUL! We went at sunset and it made it all that much more picturesque. The whole scene was never ending. The trails looked so adventurous. It just wound everywhere with all kinds of interesting detail.
I loved being surrounded by forest and trails. It's very "Oregonish" here but being off of cobblestone and surrounded by nature brought me back to Eugene and it felt sooooooooo good. I just felt like I was home.
We found this great trail that wandered high above everything else. It was VERY narrow and it just winded here and there.

Greg kept saying he wished he had a mountain bike here. It really was the best place for that. He said if we were here longer he would buy one (so I'm kinda glad we're not here longer :)
On our way back home . . .
It was so fun! We were so excited to find it! It's literally down the road! And you could just walk thru it forever. I'm excited to go again, but if I was by myself I could see myself getting paranoid of getting lost or attacked by a weirdo waiting in the woods.

Well life is really good. Work is totally back to normal. I think I just had a month of overload and couldn't do it anymore (or felt like I couldn't). And yesterday Oisin went to sleep completely on his own within 5 MINUTES!!!! And his morning nap was within 8! It's AMAZING!!!!! Each nap the time keeps getting shorter and shorter and now I don't even have to settle him! Oh! It's so much better this way! It's funny how you can train babies. Like when I put him down he instantly cries but he doesn't fight me and he just lays there crying 'cause I think he just knows it's just the way it is now and there's nothing he can do. I don't know, it just makes me laugh. Is that bad?

Greg's probably gonna start his internship this week or next which is good- EXCEPT we bought tickets to Milan for next week and I'm really freaking out that we basically just threw away hundreds of dollars on a trip he now can't take. I need to just get over it, but I'm not. Hopefully he'll just be able to go. I really hope he can.

My Mom is coming on FRIDAY which just sounds BIZARRE but I'm VERY excited! I keep finding that through out the day I'll say, "I can't wait for Mom to see this! I can't wait for Mom to experience this!" Little things, here and there. I just want her to see our life.

Greg is SOOOOOOO burnt out on school. More and more he keeps saying how he can't wait to be done with school. Watching people in school makes me so glad I went to beauty school. It was one year and gimme a break- it wasn't that hard. Ick- school, it just doesn't look fun. I always feel so bad for people that have to study for tests and papers and are all pressured to finish. I got to skip all of that, I feel so lucky!

We are starting to miss home- can you believe it? It was just last month that my thoughts were, "I feel at home here, I love it here, I'm glad Greg has an internship and it might force us to stay longer." And now my thoughts are, "I wish we had more space, I wish we had more than one room to live in, I wish we had a freaking car, I wish it didn't take so long to get EVERYWHERE!!! I wish I didn't have to clean SOMEONE ELSE'S house and take care of SOMEONE ELSE'S baby." These thoughts keep happening more frequently.

That looks like a fun hike. There is nothing like that in vegas that's for sure. I love going to visit oregon just to be surrounded by the beauty.

I'm so excited for your mom to come!

That is so cool you guys found those trails! But I was thinking the same thing- don't go by yourself. I just immediately thought of all those action packed shows where they end up running through the woods or SOMEthing and I just don't want you caught up in all that:) I'm glad work is better- I guess it makes sense that baby's have rough patches, or whatever. That's AWESOME you've trained him so well! You'll be a great mom. I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a cool park! And I'm so glad putting Oisin down for naps is going so much better! You're a lot saner, he's learning to fall asleep on his own...win-win! I know how you feel about having visitors come, it's so fun to show them everything!

Wow, I am so excited!! Seeing your street made me want all the more to be there. I'm not ready yet, but almost. To bad the trails aren't more crowded and I could walk there. But I'm a scaredy cat unless there are more people. I love Greg's short hair. I had such a hard time finding a way to be complementary on his long hair and new hair cut. The long hair wasn't so bad, I could get used to that, but the tail....
So happy about the baby! I'm excited to see him too. I love you!!!!!!

Way cool place to take pictures and it looks so peaceful and beautiful. I'm sooo glad you took a picture of where you live. I have a much better idea in my head now. You live in such a cool place. I can't believe those neighborhoods, your itty bitty apt and that forest are all in such a close proximity. It's awesome.

I think it is wonderful about the trails, but don't go on your own, just with Greg. I am glad the baby is better and things are settling for you and for him. Babies like things to be consistant and they do better if the routine is the same. I am so glad your mom gets to come. I miss you so much and I think everyone else does. Hugs and Kisses grams PS I like greg's hair

Congrats on the baby training!
I can't believe you have that beautiful forest and trails right out your back door and you didn't even know it! That is so cool! It does look like Oregon!
