First thing this morning, Brighton pooped all over me. I mean an explosive shot all over my foot, leg, arm, splatters on my abdomen, chest and behind me on the couch, as well a a good few puddles on the couch in front of me. I was so startled I didn't know where to begin. I hobbled off to get cleaning supplies and Scarlet points to the ground and yells, "Poopy!Poopy!" I had smudged it on the carpet along the way. And 20 minutes ago, I discovered some nice crusty dried poo all over his foot that I had missed.
Then I put Scarlet in the tub to play. Soon into it, she gets that look in her eye. "Scarlet do you have to poop?" Then I stress that she canNOT poop in the tub, and either has to use the potty or a diaper. We have this conversation over and over as she keeps pausing in a nice squat position. Well, I trusted her a soon enough she says she's pooping and what do you know, she did. Cleaning up poop in the tub is the WORST. It would be easier if there weren't 100 toys floating around with the poo that I now have to clean. It would be easier if I didn't have to fish her poo out. The whole thing is disgusting and this is why I don't have pets. I don't like cleaning up poo.
Then, Scarlet asked AGAIN for brownies for breakfast. After I said no AGAIN, this happened.
You can only give a girl so many times outs until you just have to give up and let her cry it out in her room. It happened on and off all morning, but this particular shot lasted 30 minutes? I don't know. I would say atleast 20. But you know when you're having a horrible moment and 2 minutes honestly feels like 10? What can I say, it felt like forever. It was at least 15 minutes. I wanted to give in for the sake of my ears and sanity, but I can't give in to brownies for breakfast. I just CAN'T. Even though I couldn't COUNT how many times I'VE had brownies for breakfast. And then she just wouldn't eat anything so that didn't help the tantrums.
All of this happened before 9 am.
Yesterday Brighton and Scarlet both got shots. I hate to say it, but I was dissatisfied in so many ways with the nurse who did it. It was SO traumatizing for Scarlet. I thought it would be a breeze because she was so good the last time she had her blood drawn, but not this time. She was inconsolable, even after I told her brownies and movies were awaiting her at home. It was like that upset her even more. It was horrible. Then the shots made Brighton cry a TON at home and it was really hard to console him. If he wasn't nursing or asleep, he was pretty much wailing. It was so sad. And then he woke up every 1-2 hours, last night, instead of the usual 3-4.
The night BEFORE this I fed Brighton at 2am and couldn't fall asleep until 5:30am!!!! After 1 1/2 hours I literally got up and started doing chores. It was the worst.
I need a Mommy Break. I need one bad. Scarlet has calmed and Brighton's in the swing so I feel the goodness coming back to me. But the first few hours of the day were rough.
I pretty much through Weight Watchers out the window this week. I will start anew on Wednesday, my weigh in date. I don't care. Everyone can have a bad week. But it stinks because I gained 1 1/2 pounds or more. I'll find out on Wednesday. So that's bummer, but I can lose it again. It is HARD to lose weight. It takes such determination!!! And when days like this happen it is hard to think about what you're eating. It's like, you can starve until all your kids are asleep and you have time and brain power to plan a healthy meal. Or you can eat whatever is available and lifts your spirits a bit. And if nothing is READY TO GO, it's hard because I worry my milk supply will get low if I go too long without eating. I know it's not going to disappear, but it might make a lousy feed or two for Brighton, which makes his day not go as well either.
On a different note- SCARLET IS DOING AMAZING!!!! Everyday I think she couldn't improve more and then she does! SO much energy, SO much happier, SO MUCH PLAYING. It is awesome. She's still not symptom free- lots of pain in her joints, but she is doing SO MUCH BETTER. It makes me so happy.

That's so great to hear about Scarlet. I pray for her in all my prayers! Oh man- the brownie breakfast fit. haha. Poor girl, I understand- I want brownies for breakfast too. Sorry it's been a rough few days. Sounds hard. The poop- YUUUUUUUCK. I agree- poop is not fun to clean. That is why Clay does it for the dog. Ew. Talk about horrifying. Thanks for blogging! Love you.
haha the brownie fit was funny. poor thing. i want brownies for breakfast too. it takes all my will power to make breakfast or lunch so i can have my brownie. uhhh weight. i hear ya sister. it is so hard, especially on bad days, because like you said- you want something to lift your spirits. so hard. poop everywhere- oh my gosh- and then the poop in teh tub. well- when greg gets home you'll have to leave and go somewhere. i love you and i'm so sorry it's hard right now. love you.
I have to admit, I laughed my way through the poop story and the wailing! I hated it when people pooped in the tub. I don't think I ever had a poop experience like the one Brighton had though that is crazy! Yes we all have bad WW weeks. The great thing about life though is like Anne's teacher on Anne of Green Gables said, "tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it! I love Thursdays for that reason, it is the first day of my weight week. Still working on trying to figure out if I can visit. If I do it will be in November, I have commitments until then. love you!
Oh and so happy to hear about Scarlet getting better!!!
Ugh, poop is the WORST...and in the tub, yuck. Camden's only done that once and it was so gross. I love that you got a video of Scarlet's fit! Toddlers are SO opinionated, it's just crazy.
Oh my gosh. The poopsplosion. I am terrified that it will happen to me.
Scarlet is too funny, the crying video is really priceless! So typical of a child her age. I am sorry about the poop it is one of the hazards of having a nursing baby. I really miss you and would love to see you and the babies. Hugs and kisses
Hahaha! We used to bring four---YES FOUR!!!---outfits to church for MY Brighton EVERY WEEK, because of the frequency and severity of his diaper blowouts! Hopefully, that was just a one time deal for your son?!!
That is not the Scarlet I was expecting to see, but, considering that outburst was over chocolate, I cannot cast any stones. She's still the cutest thing!!! Love, Julie
