Wow, so I started this MONTHS AGO and am finally sitting down to finish it. A lot has been distracting me the last 7 months. So I'll try to remember why I took these pictures and what was going on during these upcoming months.
This was in no doubt from Scarlet. Scarlet is always writing me love letters. Making them at home. Making them at school. Sliding them under my bedroom door. She loves us a lot and always makes a point to tell.
During this time Brighton became the Master Creator. He was CONSTANTLY collecting any scrap of ANYTHING we no longer needed. He made purses out of milk cartons. He made a bunch to sell and make money. He's just constantly inventing and creating the most creative things out of nothing. He's really very good at it. He's kinda backed off from it the last few months- but he was really into it for a long time. It was fun to watch him. I never threw a thing away and we were constantly washing out plastic food containers we no longer needed so he could use them too.
A hammock for his panda. I love it and I love him!
Just a few days before taking family pictures with a professional (for the first time in our 11 year marriage) Greg accidentally shaves off his eyebrow. I couldn't stop laughing to the point of making him really self conscious. I felt bad, but just couldn't stop- it was just so funny!!! So he wanted to cancel our pictures and I said, "Absolutely not!" because I'd been WAITING AND WAITING to finally do this and our photographer was moving out of country in just a few weeks. We ultimately decide to put off pictures for a few weeks and he wants to shave his other eyebrow to even it out. I freaked out and said no and convinced him to TRIM his other eyebrow and "fill in" the other brow with eye shadow. It miraculously worked. No one at his work ever noticed. He honestly debated not going in to work the next day because he knew he'd never live it down if they saw it. But he got away with it and within 2 or 3 weeks you couldn't even tell.

Brighton is an amazing little herb eater. He will eat a bowlful of cilantro, basil, green onions, parsley. He just LOVES green herbs. I'll cut some up for a salad or dinner dish and he eats the whole pile before dinner time. So now I always have to buy double what I need so Brighton can have a pile to himself. I love it. It's so unusual but it's awesome and healthy so way to go Brighton.
I can't believe how small Marius looks in this picture. Now, 7 months later- he's so old and grown up. He's SO CUTE here! That face! Ah! This is Marius eating coconut. He loves it.
Everyday the kids tear up the house and there's nowhere to sit and it's utter chaos. But I think it's good for their imaginations and creativity so I just let them. I only have now been catching on that I'm pretty much the only human that lets their kids do this and it's completely appropriate to say- no, this room has to stay clean. So now that's what we do . . . sort of. But for 5 good years we've been living in complete chaos. Now it's somewhat organized chaos and a lot easier to live it. But I gotta admit- I love seeing all the crazy things they do. If they cleaned it up and didn't argue with me, I wouldn't care- but they're only now (7 months later) STARTING to do that SOMETIMES. I'm really trying to tackle that problem.
