Luscius and Bellatrix!
Snape and his dark mark!
My friend Emily!

I was sorted into Griffindor! (of course!) Emily got Hufflepuff, and her sister Jenny got SLYTHERIN!
Harry Potter, oh where to begin? So the 6 year obsession finally comes to an end. I must admit I was counting down the days. I woke up at 8:30 am (and those who truly know me, know I haven't awaken before 9:30 since early morning semminary). I drove to Barnes and Noble in my sweats to get a bracelet so I can be one of the first to get my HP. I get there 15 minutes before opening and there's already a line of 60 people or so. So I wait inline for an hour then rush off to work.
So my predictions were this, well really my hopes. I REALLY wanted Snape to be good. And I didn't care if Harry died or not. I ABSOLUTELY wanted, NEEDED Ron and Hermoine to survive, and kiss and live happily ever after. But I knew it could swing EITHER way.
The most exciting part of the party were the costumes. I didn't realize how easy it would be to dress up (just a tie, white collared shirt and a pain black skirt). When I realized I wished I would have dressed up. Oh well.
I went with my oldest sister Rebecca and her husband Darin, who happened to be intown at the right time (Darin didn't want to be in any of the pictures). We met one of my oldest friends, probably THE oldest friend I have, Emily Rogers and her sister Jenny. (We grew up across the street from each other and sat next to each other in sunday school every sunday 'till we left home.)
We drew out our houses from the sorting hat. We were in group "A" and got our books within 5-10 minutes. I freaked out when I saw it behind the counter. It was so beautiful. And when it was in my hands, I honestly held it and caressed it like it was a child of my own. When we reached the parking lot I ridiculously started jumping up and down. I could not contain myself. You can ask Darin and Rebecca. I was so tired from already waking up earlier than normal (and maybe from being a bit pregnant) I could only read 15 pages and then went to sleep at 1:30 am. And I must say, it was an intense 15 pages. I took the next day off to read all day with my loved ones. Greg was out of town and I must say this book was way darker than any other and I couldn't read alone at night without him around. It was just too eery. (And who wants to dream about Lord Voldemort all night long really!) So it took me five days to finish it. And I must say, it was INCREDIBLE! Can I say one of the most incredible experiences of my life? And I LOVE how it ended.

I agree, agree with almost all of what you said, I guess I am not as sensitive although, my husband was home, so maybe I couldn't have read all night like I did if your dad wasn't there. I wanted Snape to be good also. I loved the whole pensive part. I also loved the Hermione and Ron part. I also loved how much they loved and supported Harry. I wanted Harry to live. I loved how she made it that he didn't kill anyone, and that Voldemort killed himself. I love that we all love the Harry books. Someday Amy will join us. I doubt Jake will though. It would have been fun to be at Rebecca's book club she had for the last book. I love you!!!
oh I forgot, loved the pics.
All of the characters look so good. Any other time I would think that they were crazy but since it was for Harry Potter I love it! Griffindor eh? I have never been sorted but I think I would be in there with you even if I had to sneak in. So I have decided that I am not going to allow my kids to watch the movies until they have read the books. I want them to be able to have the full amazing experience that I had. Not knowing what was going to happen. I love you!! When did you start reading the books? Did we start around the same time? Utah time? I'll call you soon but you work today so it might have to be tomorrow.
Loved the pics! There were dressed up people at mine too...I wish I would've taken pictures of them! Oh well. Looks like you had fun! I love harry potter...so sad it's over!
Such a good recap! I agree...it's a total life-changing experience! And I was scared to read at night too! I love you, it was so fun to hang with you!
ahhh, I just talked to a good friend of mine today who finished the book. I need to get one... I'm getting really anxious to read it.
Those pictures were incredible. I wish I could've gone to a party. I loved this post, b/c you wrote so much. Love you
