Megan's Got a Gun
Greg and I went shooting on his birthday. Big number twenty four. It was really fun. I LOVE to shoot. Before I married Greg I was INCREDIBLY anti-guns. Hated them with a passion and thought having them in your home was asking for an accident ending in death. The year before Greg and I got married I didn't change my mind- but my "anti" intensity greatly diminished. And somehow after Greg and I got married, we ended up buying one. It's a 9mm Smith and Wesson. I had to ask Greg that just now, I barely even know what that means. The first time I shot a gun my eyes welled up with tears and I felt like a murderer. The feeling has since past and now I love it and I envision evil men that would break into my home. I've been wanting my sisters to see me shoot from the beginning. I know they'll think I'm so tough.
As for Greg's Birthday. . . it was GREAT!!! We went to his parents for the weekend. Mom and Dad got him $ for an XBOX (thank you!) and some games. He LOVES IT!!! I, myself, never thought I'd ever be in support of such a waste of space but Greg loves it and it's something to he can do to rest his brain from school work (which starts on Monday). His parents got him some controllers and games and a rice cooker. Greg also got some presents from me in advance: a pocket knife that can be flipped out quickly (he loves knives) and some really nice shoes (Keens). So he already had those at least a month in advance. He's had his knife for months. So he got a small gift from me: The Screwtape Letters by C.S Lewis. He's been wanting to read it for awhile. We woke up to an empty house on his birthday and lazied around, went swimming, got dressed and went shooting, ate and went home. It was relaxing and Greg always loves seeing his family.

Thank you for blogging!!! I didn't know you love to shoot so much, I would love to see you too, I think. I love you silly videos also!!! I'm glad Greg likes his x-box. I am still getting used to the whole video game thing. I was glad you said that about resting his brain. That makes it make more sense. I love you!!!

That is so awesome!!! You do look really tough! Now I want to go shooting. You make it look really fun. You look like a tough girl that can handle any bad guy.
Nice shootin', I wish Fiona would let us get a gun, but I always get shot down on that one. Greg was total commando army man when we were kids, he wears less cammo now but has more dangerous toys. Happy B-day Greg!!

I shot a shotgun once when Dan was out of town. It was the middle of the night and a racoon was attacking my chickens. I shot the gun and went flying backwards. The racoon got away and I don't remember anything after that. Heather was with me. We had a good laugh! You look like a much better shot Megan!
We have a gun too. Still not too happy about it and I never grew up anti-gun. In fact, I shot guns with my grandpa and for a date once. Maybe if I go shooting with Dan I will warm up to the Ruger or whatever the type of gun it is.
I'm impressed with your shooting skills. What we women end up getting into for a man.
My husband is a Halo fanatic (on the XBox). Most of the time I don't care but sometimes I wonder he loves it more than me. . . darn that Halo.
