This was a few weeks ago. Greg called me one night to tell me for the 3rd week in a row that he had a flat tire and needed a ride home (yes folks- 3 flat tires in 3 weeks). To say the least, this experience was very frustrating! So upon arriving home, Greg suddenly wanted a bike makeover. So he took the whole thing apart, brought it into the tub (yes the tub) and began to rinse it. He fiddled on it for a very long time and spray painted it black the next day. (It was originally a very fashionable purple and green.) Instead of just fixing the flat for the millionth time in a row- we also bought a newer, thicker tire. And it's been 3 weeks and no flats! YEA!

Flat Tires

haha! sounds like a fun adventure!
How about getting him a fix-a-flat kit [Christmas is coming up!] to carry in a little bike bag for these occasions. They have come in handy when no one is avail. for a ride. we've been 25 miles from home on rides... quite handy.

Oh man. that DOES sound frustrating. I can't imagine getting so many flat tires. I had to ride my bike like EVERYDAY EVERYWHERE during the summer (I loved it of course, probably because I never got any flats!) I'm glad he got a sweet makeover. Love you!!! Miss you!!!

What a royal pain, but it sounds like it is working well now. Soon it will be just a small memory. You will have many of those along the road of life. Somehow I have very few bad memories, I seem to remember only the happy ones. I love you up to the sky. Grandma I wish for you only the happiest of memories. grandma
A spontaneous bike makeover, that's great! Good call on the new tire, sounds like it did the trick.
That's a good story...I don't know why he wouldn't want a purple and green bike, though. Sounds super sweet to me! I'm so glad that he got new tires, that will be nice to not have to deal with flats anymore!
I used to ride my bike 20 miles to work. On the first day of that job, I got a flat and had to fix it in 3 minutes flat (or I'd be late on the first day)!
This story broght back those memories...
Gross, he used your tub? Did he wash the tub out when he was done? That's great that he is so handy. Poor guy, 3 flats, wow.
Pretty cool!! black sounds better. As a landlord, the bike in the tub has always been my desire! Sort of like your dad overhauling his motorclycle in the living room of his apt. when we were engaged!! I bet he has forgotten about that! :-)
For the record, I only put the tires in the tub... the bike wouldn't fit! haha.
