Well, everyday I log on and see no one has posted, and then start a post myself, then delete it because there's nothing to talk about! I am FINALLY better! I feel like I appreciate health more than I ever have now. I always get that "high" after I'm sick for a day or two, but I feel my perspective has totally changed. I never want to get sick again. But at the rate I'm going, in a month I will be again. That's just the way it's been here. Someone told me that when you move to a new country, the first year your body has to get used to all the new bugs. That's fine, but if Greg and I move as much as we want, what does that mean? I'm going to be sick every other year? That just sounds awful. Well, anyway.
Greg has been busy filling out his background check stuff for NATO. It is CRAZY how much info they need. It really is insane. He's finally going to start writing his dissertation today. I've been going a little crazy at work. Oisin is sick AGAIN! He's only been NOT sick 2 separate weeks in the last 5 months. Is that normal? He is ALWAYS sick. Point being, he just cries all day, and that is hard to handle. But, it's been really nice actually having health and being able to do the housework.
We've gone to the movies a couple times recently. I really wanted to see Bride Wars (which I loved) and Greg's been wanting to see Valkerie. So Monday we leave a little late to go see Valkerie and our tram line is being worked on, so there's this little detour with a connecting bus (with no schedule times posted) so it ends up tacking on 1/2 an hour extra to our travel time! So before we even make it 3 blocks down the road we realize we're going to be atleast a half hour late, so we just go home! So 2 days later we try again. We first stop at the Asian market to pick up some peanut butter (of all things) and it's closed! This is the SECOND time this has happened to us in a row! So irritating! So, disappointed, we go to the movies to find that Valkerie is no longer playing! What the heck! It just came out! So we look at the list of movies and EVERYTHING, except the cartoons, is rated R, of course. We wouldn't be SO disappointed except the whole reason we came is because we bought 5 tickets on this card thing (because it's a better deal) and the card EXPIRES this week! I'm so mad because we bought the card to SAVE money and here we are about to LOSE money. So here we are in the middle of our dilema and it's already taken us a stinkin' hour just to GET to the theater. So we went to a french movie- which is taking a chance right there because they have no ratings! But it looked like a family feel good type so we went. It was ALMOST completely clean. Who knows, about the language, we couldn't understand ANYTHING! But we got the jist of the story. But it was a VERY wordy movie. There would be these conversations and we'd just think, "What are they saying?" This movie has reminded me how much I LOVE the english language. Once in awhile they'd be in an English Class and so they'd speak English (all meaningless, of course) and it felt SO GOOD to actually understand something. It was hilarious because they took a school trip to London and they made the English look like absolute freaks. It was funny, because we do that in our movies with other cultures, too. And all the background music was in English too. And everytime a song came on I just felt more comfortable. I've never paid so much attention to background music before. I heard every single word. It was funny too, because everytime they spoke English on the movie, french subtitles would pop on the screen.
And THAT is the most interesting thing to happen to us in a month!
My calling is SO HARD. It is so hard to even get them to stay in their chairs let alone listen to ANYTHING I'm saying. It is hard. Last week I wanted all the kids to participate in this activity that was suppose to be fun and the twins said, "No." Just like that. It was more than saying no, it was like they were rebelling. How can a 4 year old know how to rebel?! It surprised me. And what do you do when they say no! You can't MAKE them! It's frustrating. I am always SO exhausted by the end of class. They usually listen 2 separate moments during class. But it's so unpredicatable! Often they won't listen so I completely give up and am basically talking to myself and then suddenly they're listening! I don't understand these little ones! And they are SO EMOTIONAL!!! One class, before we even said the opening prayer, 5 kids cried- all at separate times. Oh my. One girl cries every sunday right before class, because she wants her mom. EVERY SUNDAY! I just want to say, "GET OVER IT SAVANNA!"
I've been doing a lot of hair lately. It's been nice to get extra cash, but really I don't spend it on anything. I think, "Oh I want clothes," but what for? I never wear clothes! I'm always in dirty sweats! I don't know.
I have been losing my motivation for getting up for work. It's no fair. Greg gets to sleep in everyday and wake up whenever he wants. I have to get up before the sun is even up and watch a crying baby all day. And then when he finally gets a job I think, "Ooo, then he'll have to get up and I'll get to sleep in." Yeah right! By then we'll have a baby and I'll have been up all night long breast feeding. It just doesn't seem fair. Whatever, I have a good life, I just complain sometimes.
Well, that's about it. I hope everyone is doing well!

Well, I'm glad you are feelign better. That would be awful if you got sick every year like that. I alwahys feel that way- grateful for my health after big sicknesses, but then I quickly take it for granted again. That is wierd that the baby is so sick all the time, i wonder if it is normal. That is so dissapointing about the peanut butter adn movies! especially since you were trying to save money! I'm so sorry! church: that is so how kids are. Every week I learn something that works and doesn't work- everyweek I go home thinking, "ok this was good, do that again, this was bad, never do that again." That is funny how much they cry, mine are older, so they've neve cried. I love you- and I post all the time- what are you talking about? I love you-
I miss you
Hate to break it to you, but after you're done with Asoin, your days of crying babies and Greg sleeping are not over...just like you said. Kind of a bummer. But, then I think about Shad right now, with this horrible economy and horrible market, and MANAGING PEOPLES MONEY in it, trying to support us while everyone around us are losing jobs...I'm pretty glad I stay home with emotional crying babies all day. = ) I'm sorry Asoin is sick so much. That is awful. Sick babies are so hard to take care of. It sounds odd that he's sick so much.
Tanner cries sometimes in Primary because he doesn't want me to go. = )
It's weird how nobody in our big FAM is posting huh? What happened to Z and F? Dan has been sick ALOT this winter too. It's weird. Glad you're better. Babies are fussy creatures. At least you get to sleep at night and he stays home keeping his mom up! LOL
SO glad to hear you are finally feeling better! That stinks about the movies... way to stick to your guns about the R-rating, though. I admit, Sean and I have seen a VERY SELECTIVE few (I can only think of 3). The last one was Changling and for once really did have just "one scene"... shock therapy while she was in the asylum (sp?). I've heard good things about Slumdog, but have no idea what its' really about or why it has the R-rating.
Anyway... I don't think it's normal for babies to be quite that sick. I only have one example to go by, though. Then again, this past winter it seems like Ethan has been sick quite a bit because I think the nursery kids and the 2 kids from his Wednesday daycare keep recycling it. So I guess it does seem like he's had a runny nose or something almost every couple of weeks.
Sorry about the primary class. I never had it too bad while I was primary chorister... more of the rebellious/obnoxious 10-11 year-olds that were ready to move on to YM/YW and thought they were too cool for singing and sharing time.
Ok, I think I've babbled enough!!
My little primary class can be frustrating, too. Three 3-yr old boys, and one 3-yr old girl. The girl is awesome, and one of the boys is, too. The other 2 boys always are trying to leave. Usually one of their moms has to stay in Primary for a while. It's frustrating when you have an activity or something planned that you KNOW they'll enjoy if they just give it a chance!! Which has been proved, because they usually will finally do it and end up having fun. But, the boys have been getting better here, and I'm sure your kiddos will, too. Just takes some getting used to for them. (And some (wo)man-handling. I have to haul one of them around and at first was kind of hesitant, since he's not my child, but then was like, "eh, it's gotta be done!" Hopefully you don't have to do that!)
Oh, and I'm glad you're feeling better, too! Poor Oisin, that doesn't sound entirely normal to me, either. I hope he gets better for GOOD soon. (Holy long comment, Batman! Sorry abt that...)
