Tchau Solteirice

Translation: Goodbye Bachelorhood. This is our friend Danilo at his Bachelor Party. He's flying to Brazil in a couple days to marry his Bride and bring her back with him. We're really excited to meet her.

The room was full of mostly Brazilians. I love the Brazilians. They're always happy and laughing. Even though I never know what they're saying, I feel good around them. The older couple on the right are the Phairs. They are missionaries and they are teaching Greg and I french every week.

They had Danilo do all kinds of crazy things. He had to dance for us, sing for us and his fiance was watching online. The one on the left is our Bishop. Sinoui is on the right. We LOVE Sinoui. He is one of the single men we wish we had a woman for. He's coming over for dinner tonight.
Greg couldn't help but grab a wig and join in the fun!

This is Adriano and Vanessa, they planned the whole party. It was fun that it wasn't just boys.

This is Natasha. She is Russian. She is soooooooooo nice. She is ALWAYS at the church, every time we're ever there- she is there. She's always cooking at the church for people. I honestly think she does every night. She is very kind. We love her too.
Just wanted to show you our friends!

This week was really good. Work has been a lot better. Oisin was in a great mood all week and I've been teaching him to sleep on his own. We're definitely not there yet- but it's actually been going along better than I expected. I finally asked his parents if they ever let him cry it out for awhile. I always felt like they NEVER let him cry and was always panicky they'd show up in the middle of the day and hate me if they realized I left him in his crib. But I finally asked and we're all on the same page. That brought me relief.

I gave a talk today. It went well. I was really worried about talking too fast (because someone simultaneously translates on the headphones) but I did really well. Today I only had 2 kids in class. What heaven that was. It was the best class we ever had. It's so much easier to convince 2 kids to quiet down instead of 6, which is basically impossible. And next week the Youth are teaching, which will just be fabulous, and then it's conference! Two weeks off!!! Oh! I'm going to enjoy it. And then Mom will be here! Every other day I end up saying, "I'm excited for Mom to visit!" I don't know if I mentioned before, but we're going to Milan, Italy and we're going to see an Opera while we're there. I'm really excited.

There's nothing else really to report. Life is sort of non-eventful. I think I've hit a new peak of sugar intake. That's really saying something. I've already consumed more chocolate than anyone else I've ever known, but now it's turned to cheap cookies. I just eat them. And it's not even, "Mmm this is so good." It's just me consuming them. I've lost all self control. I told Greg that when we run out of our current sweets, we have to not buy any for atleast a week. I eat a box of cookies or more everyday at work and then I come home and eat a box of cookies or more at home. It's gotten REALLY bad. I keep waiting for it to show up. But I've been running the last few weeks.

Oh yes. High School Musical. So I finally bought the soundtracks. I'm amazed it's taken me so long. This is going to sound ridiculous, but here it is. I watch the movie and say to myself, "I'm buying the soundtrack tonight!" Then I listen to it and I just don't like it. I know it's the same recording but I swear it sounds so different by itself. Well, a year or so down the road now and I've finally boughten all 3 in one big swoop. It's one of the best decisions of my life! Whoever wrote HSM was inspired. It creates happiness. So last month was really hard and I came home from work everyday feeling very low. Well, after weeks of this I put in HSM (the movie) and INSTANT happiness. I felt SO much better. Something about the music just gives me ENERGY! So that's what I've been listening to when I run. It makes it hard to pace myself! I'll stop and walk because I need to and then a song will come on and I just have to run! I can't hold still to such a good song! I've been dancing in our apartment when Greg isn't there and I get so out of breath. I told him last night if I ever need to get up and do something ('cause sometimes I'll just lay in bed and can't get up) I told him to play HSM and it would definitely work. I just can't feel sad or tired if it's on. Good songs about good morals. I think it's the best thing on earth, next to the Gospel!

Okay- I can TOTALLY relate with you on SO MANY levels! I have HSM 1 and 3 soundtracks..need 2, but anyway- I LOVE THEM! If I have a bad day, or don't want to go to work...I just put in the soundtrack, and I totally know- it makes me SO HAPPY! I also love listening to it while I'm doing dishes. It's wonderful. I think that all the time- whoever wrote High School Musical is a genius. The other level- I have felt the same way about sugar intake lately. I literally can't go a day without it. I'm starting to think I need to chill a bit. And I HAVEN'T been running! Yowsa. Anyway- your life looks nothing like boring to me. The top pictures prove that! Your life seems so exciting. I love reading about it. I love you and am so excited for you to have mom come! You guys will have so much fun!

That was great!!! I love blogs! I don't know what I would do w/o them! I'm glad you and the parents are on the same page. Your life will get easier and easier! I am so excited too. I keep thinking about things I need to do, but it seems too soon, so I make lists, but I need to put them all in one list and date them. That is funny about HS musical. I will see the 3rd one on the plane. I think they are funny, but don't know if I could really watch them more than once, maybe its one of those things that grows on you. I am so glad you shared about the party! I think this is such a neat expereience you are having, it will be interesting to see if this is your life! I am excited to see your life when I get there! I am kind of glad we didn't do the exchange thing, because I wanted to come and see your life and where you live. If we have done an exchange we would have just seen Ireland. The sugar, its deadly. I thought I would never get over the Christmas binge. I think I am just coming out of it!!! Love you!!!!!

That party looked awesome! I wish I was there. And Megan, I like to stick to the four food groups: candy, candy corn, chocolate, and maple syrup. Type 2 diabetes, here I come! I am glad that things are better at work.

Hahaha! Megan, you crack me up with your HSM addiction! I really need to see those, I've never heard one thing bad about them, but I always forget to make Z put it in our Netflix queue. He's prob glad I forget! That'll be so fun with your mom! I'm excited for you! The bachelor party looked really interesting, everyone seemed to be having a good time. It's always so neat to go to things like that and see how people from different cultures do it.

ok your HSM posts are really making me curious...enough to want to watch one of the movies! I thought they always looked so silly but now I want to give them a chance. Megan you crack me up! I love you! You are so open about yourself and your moods. I feel I know you better and I really like you! You brighten my day!

I am glad that the parents agree with you Megan. It is wonderful that you have so many friends, and I totally understand about the HSM I used to have the same feelings about an Elvis show or anything to do with the music he recorded. I think we all need to find something that makes us happy and if that does it for you great! Some people feel that way about Josh Groban I don't know if that is the way you spell his name. I haven't seen it. I am happy you have so many friends, and isn't it great that we can find the same kind of people in the church no matter what country we are in or what language they speak. They become our family away from family. I think that is what the Lord wants for us, because he loves us all so much it doesn't matter where we reside. I love and miss you and pray for you always. grams

Cool party! I am glad you are getting work figured out better! As for HSM, I never could get into it. Probably because the first time we watched it was with my 6-year-old niece and then we watched it OVER AND OVER AND OVER! Ack! Repetitiveness is the best way to turn me off of anything. In two days we probably watched it 6 times!
But, not to take anything away from your enjoyment of it. I am happy you have found something that you love so much. :)

That looks like quite the Bachelor party! Wahoo!! It was great to see pictures of your friends. :)
I'm glad that you and the parents of the little boy are on the same page about him sleeping/crying. Hopefullly things will go better now!!
What's up with the cookie addiction?! If you're gonna eat the calories, at least make it worthwhile with some decent junk food! He he he.
Ok, I have seen the first 2 HSM, but not the 3rd yet. I think Sean and I were spoiled by watching them for free on the Disney channel and were too cheap to buy movie tickets! We'll have to see it. I liked the music, but now I'm thinking I should listen again and look into getting the soundtrack if it's that fun and uplifting! Ethan and I could use some good dance music to boogey around the house to!
