The Latest

Life is good. It's nice. It seems like we were on such a never ending path of frustration and now it's over. It's BEEN over. It's nice. Scarlet and I are in the swing of things and so is Greg with his job, which doesn't feel so new anymore. Life has just lightened up and I like it that way. Pretty crazy, Greg's complete training ends in 2 weeks! So in 2 weeks he'll be a full blown cop, driving around town, completely by himself. Does that seem strange? He'll be on the same schedule for 3 months vs the ever changing 6 week schedule. I am pumped. The last 5 months, it seems every time we finally get used to the new routine/schedule it changes again. The only negative, is now Scarlet and I are more on our own routine, so if Greg goes to nights again, which I know he will, our days are really not gonna match up. In the past, Scarlet was up every few hours eating so I still saw him, no matter when he worked. We'll figure it out when we get there. His schedule right now is PERFECT. Swing shift. Noon to midnight. He BASICALLY has the same hours as us. So he never needs to sleep past 10am and never has to stay up past midnight, either. Perfect. Now it just needs to be those hours and during the WEEK, not the weekend. Right now our social life has sort of halted because we can only hang out on school nights/days. Doesn't really work for the rest of the world. Oh well.

I am pretty sure I'm going to get called to be the ward organist. Is that bad to put on here, before it actually happens? I could totally be wrong, but I don't think I am. I'm kinda the only one available for it. There are 2 other people in the ward who are qualified- the Relief Society President and the Primary President. There's literally 2 other people that can play, but not exceptionally well, and I don't even think one of them is active. So that leaves me. Playing hymns really is no biggie, but getting up EARLY is. Today I realized I could do it though. I've failed to be on time to church since Scarlet was born. But today I HAD to be on time because I was playing a piece during sacrament meeting. I've realized I need to sacrifice the shower on Sunday or I'm just not going to make it on time. But the other thing is GREG and his ever changing schedule. Right NOW he can watch her and come to sacrament meeting. He has to leave right after for work. But many times he hasn't been able to come at all. He's hardly been at church for 5 months! Finding people to come to church, consistently EARLY too, so they can
watch Scar for me, stresses me out. It's like if I'm asked I want to say, "Can you call somebody to watch my baby, too?" ANYWAY. This all might just be my thoughts. Anyway.

I made little seat cushions for the kitchen chairs and they are SO CUTE!!! I would post, but our table still doesn't match. I'm going to wait 'till it's finished. Hopefully this week. But it looks so much better. I'm really excited. And it's the last of the MAJOR projects. Now decorating will just be a picture here, and picture there. Not so time consuming.

Here's some cute pics.

My two favorite people in the world.

She is getting SO GOOD on the ground now! It has taken awhile, but she can stretch up tall and slide here, slide there. She can just scoot on her belly so she does a complete 180. It's pretty funny. She FINALLY rolled over! And I missed it! I put her on her back and start the dishes and next thing I know I look back and she's on her belly! I couldn't believe it! I get so excited and hug her but she doesn't seem to care. So I roll her back and wait for her to do it again, but she just stares at me. So then I hide behind a corner and peek trying to catch her, but she knows I'm there and just lays. So I return to the dishes and it happens again! We keep trying to get her to do it, but she hasn't yet.

She is Miss Grabby Grab. Grab the hair, grab at our food, grab anything that passes her. I love when she puts her hands on my face, but then she has a way of scratching me, which isn't so wonderful. The other day she was holding up her bottle all on her own! She still needed help, here and there, but she did pretty good by herself.

I had no idea how young them wanting to DO everything was. Did that sentence make sense? It's like she already wants to be like us! Greg keeps getting her to drink out of a little cup. She does choke on the water sometimes, but she always wants more. She LOVES to suck the juice out of oranges. It always makes me nervous she's gonna suck a chunk right off and choke on it, but I let Greg do it anyway.

Check out this HAIR! The knots keep getting worse!!! Sometimes I just want to leave them! So far, she's handled combing it out very well, but I'm not convinced that's going to last.

My baby can sit!!!! I actually got a video of her sitting for 3 minutes, but since that's all she's doing, I figured that would not be so exciting for everyone else. But somehow I erased it anyway! Darnit! It was the longest she'd ever sat and I caught it on tape! Oh well. Here are some other clips.

Am I a mean Mom for putting this up? I just think she's so cute, even when she cries.

I am going to bed at 10:30 pm. That is so weird for me. As weird as it is to be going to bed early and getting up early, I like it so much better. The trick is going to bed early, 'cause I have to get up no matter what. But it's nice to see more of the sun, and be on a more compatible schedule with friends. A month ago we were more on a 10am - 2am schedule. I like this one so much better. Good night!

those were soooooo cute! I love watching videos of her. It is amazing how fast they want to be like us. The grabby stage is always scary to me. I'd be holding one of you guys and up would go the hand and yank the plate onto the floor! The grabbing of my hair was also one of my fav's! THANK YOU for blogging! I am so happy the job is going better for Greg. Those pics of Randy and Scarlet are soooo cute, I am jealous! love you!!!

Her bed head is crazy! I can't imagine having to sit there and comb all of the knots out at this age. She's so adorable, it's so fun to see them get older isn't it?
I am glad that Greg's job is getting better and more scheduled, I bet that's a big stress relief.

Good luck with the new schedule, I really hope it sticks and things can get back to normal.

Good luck if you get the new calling, you'll be great at it, and anyone would be lucky to watch your baby!!!

I cannot believe how chubb she has gotten since I last saw her!!! IT has been too long! We definitly need to get together, but our life is a bit crazy right now! I feel bad for not showing up to your girl-party that was WEEKS ago! I meant to call and cancel, because my kids were just too sick and i ddin;t want spread it. Alex ended up with pnumonia and two ear infections the week before we left for Hawaii and Austin wasn't doing much better. And now we are back and are BUYING A HOUSE! Ack! I don't know how that happened...Paul just started school agian too! OH, but we should still try and get together sometime soon! I want to see your adorable little girl! I don't think I have seen her since before Thanksgiving! We sure miss you guys!
