What do you think?
We are finally rid of this vacuum. Oh how I have longed for this day. I have not always longed for it to be away from us, just the last year. We got this right after we got married and it worked great in Eugene. Then we packed it away, when we went to Europe and when we brought it to our new home, it just wasn't the same. First of all, I couldn't hook the bag on. It just flapped everywhere, hence the tape. Look at it. It looks so much sadder in real life. Anyway. It just doesn't vacuum. It is so pointless. And it gets stuck on the carpet and is so hard to push around. Well I whine to Greg about it right away and say, "We need a new vacuum." But when we first moved in it was like, "what weren't we buying" so he wanted to hold off. Months pass, seasons pass and I press again, probably 2 weeks ago. So he gets it out to test it and it's sucking things up. And I protest that it doesn't normally suck things up and he's getting the wrong idea. No win. I mean, I could've gone out and just gotten one but I knew he didn't want to, so I didn't. I finally give in to this vacuum and accept I have to live with it my whole life. Well, yesterday Greg randomly gets out the vacuum and within 3 minutes he goes, "You're right. This vacuum sucks. We have to get a new one." If I wasn't so happy, I would have been so mad. Because I had known this for 10 months. I've been vacuuming with this piece of crap for 10 long months. Well, ta da!!!
Holy crap. I had no idea what I was missing. It was easy to push! I thought all vacuums got stuck on our carpet because it was thick or something. Nope. This just glides along. And you push it over and you can't SEE anything it's sucking, but you can HEAR it. It's just magical. Vacuum, I love you. I simply love you. And we only vacuumed about a room and a half and look at this disgustingness we've been living amongst . . .
Uh, gross. Can you imagine Scarlet crawling in all this in a couple months??? Ew, makes me shudder. Talk about a cleaner feeling. Who knew so much nasty was hidden in the carpet? Disgusting.
So, as I was about to sit down and start this post, probably 45 minutes ago, I had this, "I want chocolate" kind of feeling. I've been having this feeling too much. When I began this whole ban on chocolate it was a BREEZE. But it seems it gets harder each day. It's only been 8 or 9 days!!! That's nothing! It seems I was only strong for 3 or 4 days. Because it seems like almost every OTHER day this week, if I've had a frazzley sort of day, I say, "I don't care. I'm having chocolate." And I go to the cupboard, grab the chocolate chips and then right as I'm about to poor them in my hand . . . I feel disgusted with myself. And then I put them away. But it's like EVERYDAY this happens! I'm like a crackhead, and chocolate chips are my crack. Seriously that's how I feel. Like this horrible addict. Well, who hasn't watched all this Charlie Sheen business (if you haven't, you simply have to. The best entertainment in years) Anyway. After watching him, it puts drugs on the mind and then it makes me feel like I have problems. Not with drugs, with chocolate. So I'm telling Greg how I'm feeling, like maybe I should off chocolate for life. It's not like alcoholics don't drink for a month and then indulge here and there. They just off it or else they'll go off the deep end. And Greg's just standing there in the kitchen not reacting. So after this long non-reactive-ness I say, "I know I'm being dramatic . . . " and he reassures me that it's NOT the same. It's not messing up the rest of my life. I can function with my chocolate addiction. So then I realize the obvious and feel A LITTLE silly. But that's just the way my brain works. I get a little crazy in my thoughts sometimes. ANYWAY. So far, I haven't caved. But I almost have MANY times and it makes me feel like a drug addict.
What else? The bishopric said they'd come by and it's been 2 weeks now. So I don't think I'm getting that calling after all. I'm glad. I love my calling. Little Scarlet had her shots and has had a rough couple of nights. She's been doing well in the day, though. My friend invited me to a Baby and Me Swim Class. I am pumped! Scarlet is just going to love it. I know it. Our first class is Tuesday. I can't wait to put her in her swimsuit. Hopefully it fits!
Well here's the little darling. I know these pics are the same, but I can never narrow it down to one!
The high chair. The first time we put Scar in this thing she just grinned SO BIG and couldn't stop. It was like she KNEW it was her chair and she thought it was the coolest thing. It was so cute. I wish I had it on camera.
I don't know why, but I think she looks so cute in these next two.
Oh lovely. What is up with spit up? It comes in such waves. She'll do it all day, everyday and then not for a week. I don't get it.
So, we've recently realized how bored Scarlet is with her small supply of toys. She was at someone's how with an explosive amount of toys and she LOVED it and was wanting to play with everything. Also, I went down the toy isle to look for something and she couldn't stop looking at everything and I could just tell that she would like all the things we were seeing! I felt horrible like I've deprived my child. Well, on to craigslist I went and I got this for $10! Yes!
Needless to say, she loves this thing. She will just laugh and play in it all by herself. It's great. And it can help her practice standing.
I'm so tired. I was saying to Greg that ever since Scarlet came along I feel like I can just sleep forever. Not that I WANT to, like to escape my life or something. It's just like my body is ALWAYS ready for a nap. It would never be a problem. I can always sleep more. EVEN WHEN I GET A GOOD SLEEP! It simply doesn't matter. I am always tired. Another thing. The To Do list. It never ends and never gets finished. As soon as I managed to complete SOMETHING, 3 more tasks are added. It never ends. For instance. We FINALLY finished our kitchen table and chairs and now the sun is starting to shine and the weeds are growing. Sigh, more added to the list. Which brings me to . . . OUR TABLE AND CHAIRS!!!
What do you think? Super cute, right?
Greg did all the painting and I cut out foam and sewed covers.
We even did the high chair to match!
This is how it all really looks though. We have this random chair that we painted, as well. We don't have enough matching chairs when we have company and we just always leave them all out.
It's a lot of yellow. When it was all finished that's all I could say, "It's so yellow. Wow, do you think it's too much?" Greg loved it right away. I love it now, but it took about a day feel 100%.
Lately I've been playing a lot of piano with Scarlet. She loves it. It's great because now she can sit by herself. Last week I had to tie a little blanket around us so she wouldn't fall off my lap. And she would reach for the keys but never push down on them. Now she can't keep away from it and is always pushing the keys. I love it. As much as it makes it's harder to play, I'm excited for her to play!

I can totally imagine her with her high chair being al happy and proud knwoing that it's "her chair" kind of like when she joined us late that night like ti was a party. So funny. I LOVE THE YELLOW TABLE AND CHAIRS AND THE PADS!!!!!!!!!! You know what's funny? That is the exact combo I did for my chairs I rehopolstered, remember? I got that exact fabric for accent pillows, and painted the legs that exact yellow-and like i said in my blog- I loved the combo- thought it looked awesomet ogether, coudl see it looked awesome, but that it just wasn't me! I love it! When i did those chairs the first way, I thought- this woudl look really good in Megan's house. I LOVE THE COMBO! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I'im so proud of you guys for doing all these decor projects! Your house looks so good! I'm the same way when I do a project- I'm always afraid it's too much- like our hutch- I thought "WHOA- it's really green" when we first put it in the apt, but ofcourse it's perfect how it is. I think that's just how it is when you first do something big. The table and chairs look awesome and I'm so proud of your guys! And the pads look awesome- you are such a sewer now! I love scarlet's toy things- she is so funny with the noises she is making- she's a little noise maker now! You weren't depriving yoru child megan! She didnt' know what she was missing! It was probably the perfect time to introduce all these things to her- if you did it any sooner she probablhy woudl have over looked them. I think you are a wonderful mother! I love you!
oh and I love the high chair yellow too! so cute!
yOUR TABLE AND CHAIRS ARE AWESOME! You did a great job!
And don't feel bad, kids always like the toys better at someone elses house. That's just they way it works.
She's so cute playing the piano and so are you!!
I am glad that you got a new vacuum. I love vacuuming, but it is only because our vacuum works really easy, our apartment is small and it makes me feel so good to get up the crumbs and dust. Haha!
Anyway, I love all of your pictures of Scarlet. She is so so so cute! I love how she is always smiling, yelling and laughing. It's so adorable. I love how you play the piano together. It is a sign of a great Mom that will do what she loves with her child. You look so cute together by the piano!
I also love the table and chairs. They look so cheerful! I love it. It love the high chair. I love how the style is different and you painted it to match the table. It is all so cute! I love you so much! :)
Both of my boys weren't fans of the exersaucer so I finally got rid of it a couple of months ago. i am glad that she likes it. I discovered that if I keep a few toys back for a while and then rotate them out so things are constantly new, Brecken loves it. Wow! How many coats of yellow are on that table. Yellow and red are the two hardest colors because of how translucent they are when painted. I really like it. I LOVE that chair on the end. I would love 6 of those around my kitchen table. Where did you get it?
I am so jealous of the new vacuum!I bet it makes such a difference -- that's totally what I would be buying with our tax money if we didn't have Cami's medical stuff to deal with, I even looked on craigslist for one, so tempting :) I love how you painted the highchair too. It just fits right in!
I love love the table and chairs, and the high chair. It looks really great! I think Scarlet is the cutest baby ever and she is soooooo very smart, knowing that high chair is hers, and playing with the fun chair and stroller you found for $10. on craigs list. Great plan Megan. Hugs and Kisses love you
Ooooh, I love the table and chairs! They're so happy! I'm a big fan of yellow and blue. Yay for the new vacuum, too! I bet it's actually FUN to vacuum, now. And, um, this is a late comment, so shouldn't there be pictures of Scarlet in her swimsuit by now??? ;)
