Greg left for Virginia today. We woke up to SNOW so he had to adjust his trip and add on 7 hours!!! But this way he'll avoid more dangerous weather. Hopefully he avoids the tornados. Anyway. I've got a week left to go. I already want to be there. I don't like not living in my own place. It just makes everything hard. Oh well.

I am tired. The last week has been so nonstop. Thursday night I couldn't sleep because I was so anxious about the movers coming. I woke up every 2 hours- literally. We were also physically working, NONSTOP, all day long getting organized for the movers to come. I literally started the moment I finished breakfast, probably 8:30 am and didn't stop 'till 1:30 am. It was THE WORST. And then the no sleep just killed the next day. Then that night, as we were putting Scarlet in her jammies, Greg found a tick in the back of Scarlet's shoulder. Talk about my WORST NIGHTMARE. People around here get ticks, take them out and don't think twice about it. I THINK TWICE ABOUT IT. My sister and her husband have chronic lyme disease and I am frightened to death of ticks and this disease!!!! Knowing it's extremely rare in these parts and knowing we caught it within 12 hours didn't ease my fears, even though everyone else kept telling me. Well, we were at our friend's house when it was discovered and so Adam Marre got some tweezers, called his doctor, researched online and bit and tried to take it out but the head got stuck in there. So then there was the big debate- to the ER or wait for the morning. The next morning was SATURDAY which meant I'd have to go to an urgent care ANYWAY, because my pediatrician's office is closed Saturday. Well, we decided to wait 'till the morning. I could NOT SLEEP. I was literally sick and felt like throwing up all night. And every time Scarlet made a peep I thought, "Is it the lyme? Is she already sick?" Even though I assumed it wouldn't kick in this quick if she DID have it, just every irregular behavior from her FREAKED ME OUT. And they were happening a LOT because our schedule and move was so irregular from her and taking out hours of her normal sleep daily. Anyway, we went to the doc the next morning and they got us in really fast. But I'll just say it was a nightmare. It took her a good 15 minutes to get it out. It was horrible. I really just wanted to take the tweezers and do it myself. Greg was a lot easier on her but I was mad and thought she wasn't aggressive enough and just made the whole terrifying process longer. Well, after she got it out she wouldn't give her any antibiotics or take my concerns very seriously- as I expected. I pushed a little, but didn't think I could change her mind. So I sent the tick off for testing to be sure Scarlet is fine. I'm pretty sure she IS, I just wouldn't want to make the mistake missing it, if it WAS able to hurt her. I was pretty upset for a couple days, but feel like everything's going to be ok and aren't worried at all and am just waiting for the results.

Scarlet, in general is just STRUGGLING to sleep at Pat and Randy's. I think the light is coming in our room to bright and it wakes her up and good hour and a half before she normally wakes. And with visiting friends and leaving others to put her down, she's been getting to bed really late too. She's just been missing a lot of sleep, which makes ME miss a lot of sleep. Add on the stress of the tick, of moving, of being homeless for 12 days and cleaning a house for 2 straight days ALL DAY LONG and oh yeah- being pregnant- I am pretty exhausted. My whole body was sore from all of this.

I've never spent so much time away from Scarlet, as well. That probably adds to the sleeping problems. I had so much to do at the house, I kept leaving her with people EVERYDAY. So today, I had to get the carpets cleaned and go to the doctor, but I just brought her with me and it was nice. She has been more clingy. It makes me sad that she's clingy 'cause I've been leaving her. But I'm glad she loves me and wants me around. That makes me happy. Today, I haven't felt SO TIRED. I'm still a little beaten, but nothing compared to the last 5 days. It was constant.

Moving is the worst! I'm so sorry that it got so stressful for you. The tick thing sounds so scary but hopefully everything is okay. Good luck with the rest of your move. The unpacking part is the best! I love getting to reorganize my stuff. Hopefully it all goes smooth from here.

Ugh about the tick. My sis-in-law had a suspicious bulls eye looking rash on her leg after a yellowstone trip and the doc wouldn't give her antibiotics either. But WHAT IF?!
I'm terrified of Lyme.
Hope moving goes smoothly.

Oh megan, you've been on my mind so much ever since you texted us. I'm so sorry. We've been praying for you daily. Thankgoodness you found it right away, and were proactive about the whole thing, this improves the outcome significantly, something all lyme patients wish they could have had. Poor little scarlet. everythign sounds so awful and stressful for you right now. i love you so much, and soon you will all be together again in your own new home. I love you.

Sweetie this all sounds like so much stress!!! I am praying Scarlet is fine. I think any kind of bite is scary for us moms. It is so hard to just watch our babies be unhappy and feeling lost. I hope all of the cleaning is over for you. Go to a park with the baby and play with her, it will do you both good. We love you all and are praying you will get rested up for your flight. Hugs and kisses

I'm so sorry you're so stressed, but it will be over soon. You will be living in you're own house with Greg and Scarlet and it will be nice. I bet Scarlet is okay and even if she isn't (very slim chances she won't be) she will be better soon because you caught it so quick. I love you so much and will be praying you'll be calm and comforted in all of this. Love you so much. :)

That is scary about the tick, good thing you saw it quickly. Hopefully everything turns out just fine. The move is finally happening! I bet it is so stressful but think about how great it will be to get all settled in and start exploring your new area.
