Shannon's Bachelorette Party!

Shannon didn't want a Bridal Shower so we decided on a Bachelorette Party! Yea! I'd never planned one before and had a couple weeks notice. Well Shannon, the lovely dear, arrived half an hour late. Let the party begin!
I finally had a reason to use my martini glasses. They are my favorite shape of glass! We tried to make Flaming Redheads (Shannon's favorite) but we got the wrong ingredients and didn't realize 'till it was too late. But that's alright, they just tasted more grapefruity than cranberry.

The whole idea of the entire party just makes me laugh a little (after all, all of us were LDS but one). What to do when you're a good Mormon girl at a bachelorette party?
From left to right: Nikki, Jessie, Shannon, Lyndsey, Emily, Hillary. Suanne came late and I didn't get a chance to get her picture.

We played 2 games: one where you have to figure out what girly movie particular quotes are from and a quiz about Shannon and Ralph. Shannon loved both of the games. It would have been even better if I'd remembered to buy prizes for the winners. Whoops!

Then the girls wanted the "rundown" of Shannon's and Ralph's story. She had a hard time keeping on topic, it was pretty funny.

And then PRESENTS!!!!

I was a little surprised someone gave her tools, but they did register at Home Depot and REI.

And now for the big finale! I went in with Shannon's friend Melody and we got her a sexy cop outfit. So . . . of course I wait 'till the end because it's the most exciting present! I hand her the present and watch her unwrap- waiting for the huge uproar of laughter! She opens and Shannon and I laugh together and realize we're the only ones laughing. After a moment we stop and then there's the uncomfortable . . . silence. What the heck? Is this not a bachelorette party? Oh well, Shannon and I were excited about it. That's all that matters to us!

So the next event on the agenda was to SALSA DANCE!!!!! I researched like crazy to find a "clean" place to dance on this very particular night. There was only one: The Tango Center. Well, 1/2 the party bailed out early but Jessie, Suanne, Shannon and I stayed to "get crazy on the dance floor!" This was a little interesting . . . Suanne met some guys that lived in my appt. complex on the way over to the party. So she invited them to come along. So we all meet at the Tango Center and there is NO SALSA but the Argentine Tango. My thoughts were this, "I can't believe this happened. I MADE SURE it was salsa and now it isn't. I don't know how to tango. I don't wanna pay $7 to stand around and watch other people dance slowly to operatic music." Instant frustration. To make a long story short we looked for other places to dance, found nothing and Suanne convinced us to go back and try to tango. Well I thought I was going to have a miserable time but . . . WE HAD A BLAST!!!! Everyone was really nice and just taught us along the way. We all danced a ton and kept saying throughout the night how much fun we were having. The boys that came left pretty early on. I don't think they danced at all.

I'd forgotten how much I love to dance! It simply elates me! I couldn't stop talking about it when I got home to Greg. It was so fun to learn a new dance and move in new ways. I loved it.

I can't believe the way they acted about teh cop outfit- BROTHER. Why didn't hilary laugh? wierd. Well- shannon loved it- it would have been awful if shannon didn't and looked at you weird. Well I'm glad it all went well. And that's fun you got to use the martini glasses. That's cool you got to dance- hey- next week is finals- but Friday we will be done- so we should plan to hang out on friday and have a really fun night! Since we will have not seen eachother for a week by then! Unless you wanted to watch American Idol- I can't sacrifice that, even for finals. I love you! and your hair looks really good, do you like it? we didn't really talk about it.

I know this is weird but Shannon should have tried on the outfit...you know...over her clothes of course...it would have been hilarious! Yeah for Megan throwing Shannon a party! You're the coolest!

haha! glad she got a party. :D

Love the cop outfit. Like that other lingerie wasn't in the same category or anything. You're supposed to get crazy stuff at a bachelorett party. HAHA!

We actually got a "candy pouch" (men's thong made of edible candies like candy necklaces) from one of my brothers for our wedding! LOL. All in good fun. We still have it, I've been wanting to spring it on some other unsuspecting family memeber... Shannon may be it!
