Ok, I never get tagged and I always find them really interesting and I finally got tagged, so here I go . . .
20 years ago . . . I was 6. I was in kindergarten and I made a book everyday. To the point that my teacher was worried about me and MADE me play with blocks- with boys. I remember being on my knees, blocks before me, boys on the other side of them and me just staring at them, about to cry, not knowing what to do (with the blocks that is). My sister Rebecca started to teach me the piano. I wanted to start earlier but my parents made me wait 'till I was 6. My best friend was Stephanie. She lived across the fence. I remember both of us sitting on the fence, talking for hours. This is what I remember, who knows if it really was like this.
10 years ago . . . 16 . . . oh wow, no good. All I cared about were boys and what my dress was going to look like for the Prom. I quit cheerleading that year. My life was dancing (I never missed one church or school dance- EVER). My best friend was Amy Hutcheson. There was a church parking lot down the street that I would pull into to change into more scandalous clothing before I went to school. Like I said- no good.
5 years ago . . . 21 . . . Old enough to go "clubbing", which I did a lot of. I REALLY wanted to get married. It occupied my thoughts WAY too much. That year I started my own business at a new salon. I was very nervous, but it was the best decision to go out on my own. I pierced my lower lip and took it out 3 weeks later. I paid $550 (I think) to laser/remove my arm pit hair and it didn't even work! That year my hair was (at different times) turquoise, pink, orange, platinum , and shorter than Greg's. Wow, half of this post is about my appearance- I guess it was pretty important to me then.
3 years ago . . . was really good. It is currently the peak of my righteousness. I was really trying hard. I was out with the sister missionaries a LOT and reading the B of M constantly. It was the first time in my life I felt fine about not having a man (though I still wanted one). I'd moved to the salon I now work at. I became a lot more out going. I honestly transformed into a completely new person that year and had never felt better about life. Oh yes, and I went salsa dancing almost every weekend.
1 year ago . . . I had been married 1 1/2 yrs. Never knew love and life could be so amazing. Was really freaked out and nervous about living abroad. The baby bug was really starting to get strong. Finally enjoyed eating rice. Started to get really into cooking and trying new recipes.
Yesterday . . . I had 5 men's haircuts and one woman. I had a really long lunch and wasted it watching a boring movie. My receptionist quizzed me on french words from Greg's old textbook. It snowed! Greg went swimming with his family and nephew, Ethan, who were passing thru for Spring Break. Greg made a new chinese soup for dinner. We rented Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix from redbox and ate candy, popcorn and root beer on our lovesac.
Today . . . I started watching Harry Potter in french while I ate pancakes and an egg. I worked for a couple hours and we cleaned the house, packed and left for the BEACH to visit my Dad who is all alone as my mother is away. We sat on the couch for a long time and Dad told us great stories about boats and other things getting beached on the shore. I got in a loud political debate with my father. Dad cooked us AMAZING salmon and I made mashed potatoes. They are now watching The Godfather 2 after watching the last half of The Godfather on t.v. I was excited all week to fire dance on the beach, but now I'm tired.
Tomorrow we'll go to church @ 10am at the Waldport Branch w/ my father. Dad will cook us Halibut and we'll probably walk on the beach and talk some more. Hopefully we will drive home late.
This year . . . Greg will graduate! HOORAY!!! We will camp a lot with family in the summer and travel Europe for a few weeks in September before we move to Brussels for Greg's graduate program @ The Brussels School of International Studies.

Ok I love that you used to change into scandalous clothing in a CHURCH parking lot. Nice.
(P.S. I used to do the same thing in Jr. High, but I waited until I got to the school bathroom. I think you were smarter!) ha ha!
Life is so interesting isn't it? Look how we change every day...into every year. It sounds like you just get better and better every year! And now such great adventures on the horizon. People would say...she's really lucky!
Busy girl. I never had enough clothes to change into anything scandalous but I also grew up in So Cal where short shorts and tank tops were par for course, LDS or not.
My sister lived in Brussels for a summer and loved it. My brother served a mission in Belgium (but on the Dutch and Flemish speaking side). Eat the chocolate and buy the lace.
It's funny how life and priorities change over the years. I can't help but be amused at some of my current high priorities and how different they are from what my 16 year old self thought they would be.
This was really fun to read! It's interesting how much you can change in the course of a few years at a time, without even really noticing! You're definitely an awesome chick to me though! I guess I've only known the latest 3 or so years of Megan, but I like her! :)
That was a good tag...I liked that one!
I remember those early days all too well. I was always so jealous about Stephanie and your "fence talks." Ha ha! And then in high school, not hanging out very much and being sad about it...and then pretty much missing out on everything else because I moved away! It was fun to read about all the things you did after high school. You have done so many cool things, I love it! I'm always interested to hear about your next adventure or new hobby.
I have always looked up to you and admired you!
I LOVE YOU!
Oh how I remember the scandalous clothes! I do have to say that we had a lot of FUN together! Especially dancing! Do you remember how we couldn't go 5 seconds with out talking or we thought we would die? I'm glad that I got to be a part of your life and that you were a part of mine. Sorry for being cheesy but its true! You're GREAT!
That was awesome!!! I loved hearing all that! You are so wonderful and humble. I am so glad you got to be with dad and him with you!! He told me he forgot how to make fish now that I am home! :-) I love you!!! My hair is getting really long!
