I don't know what to say. Today was hard. I went camping last night. Greg's family loves to camp and I only get to see some relatives when I go to this big family event, so I went for a night. I didn't want to leave everyone, but I couldn't wait to get away from the dirtiness, the stubbing my toes on tree roots, tripping as I'm climbing in and out of the tent, the lovely aroma of the outhouse, and everything else that comes with CAMPING. I am not a camper. Last night I realized, I will NEVER be a camper. I think people that love to camp must get this mysterious high from being in the woods that just doesn't come to me. If it did, I could probably over look all the pain and inconvenience of it all. As I get flustered in the moments of camping, I long to say, "I am NEVER doing this again." But it just comes with the territory. Greg loves to camp, and every relative of his loves to camp, so I'm just going to camp as well, unless I'm to miss out on some major family time. I just wish it was spent another way. Watching all the kids, and the parents with their kids- all I could think about was next year and the years to come. It's just going to make it all SO MUCH MORE WORK. But who knows, maybe the kids will love it so much it will make it all worth it. Let's hope so. So this is how the day started, waking up dirty in a tent.
Then I come home to a car that is dead. I assume it's the battery. Thankfully, my home teacher lives five houses down and helped me fix it. It all worked out, but it added some hassle to the day.
Then to the doctor's appointment. Hoorah, hoorah. Remember my last ultrasound and the doctor that made me feel uncomfortable and told me everything was fine? Well, MY doctor talked with the OTHER ultrasound specialist and they decided that I needed to have another ultrasound. At first this brought me relief, because I thought I needed to be monitored still. But then she went on to say she researched my condition and I don't have a SUPER DUPER high risk, but I AM high risk so I'm going in TWICE a week, here on out to get checked up on. She told me all these wonderful things that could go wrong and how it's possible I would need a c-section (this is where the panic sets in). She also said everything could be wonderful and I could have a completely normal delivery, but she wanted to let me know all the possibilities, so if something DOES happened, I am mentally prepared. So I'm still planning on a wonderful delivery, though it freaked me out to say the least. So after some major crying in the Target parking lot, I bought a bunch of baby stuff. I completely overdid myself and my feet had never hurt so bad. I came home too tired to make dinner and am eating a bag of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups instead. Though I'm feeling MUCH better than I was, say 4 hours ago? I am wishing my Greggy was here to take care of me and make me feel better.
This was a week ago so I'm even BIGGER now. This was me at 34 weeks.
Remember this picture? This was 16 weeks. I'm wearing the same shirt. I remember thinking I was SO BIG at this point and SO INSULTED that people couldn't tell I was pregnant. Oh my gosh. I do not look pregnant. Not at all. I think it's safe to say, "What a fool, I was."

Now when I first saw these I thought it was the most disgusting thing I'd ever seen and vowed not to blog them. But I like seeing people imperfections, so I offer you mine.
Ugh, it just sags.
Now that's better.
Is this the cutest thing you've ever seen or what?
This is little Miles. You can't help but fall in love with this boy. Miles is my brother Jacob's son and he may just be the coolest kid I know. Of course, Greg and he got along famously. Every child on the planet loves Greg. And I mean LOVES Greg. When it comes to kids, Greg just has magic powers. It was really fun to watch them wrestle and pretend to be monsters. Miles was laughing so hard and getting so into it. My cheeks were hurting from smiling so much. Of course, it made me so excited for our own little one to come into this world. I've seen Greg play with kids a million times, but with him away it'd been awhile, so it was a great reminder what a catch I found and what a great Dad he'll be to our kids. I'm really lucky.
These pics are from our visit to Mom and Dad's, last weekend. My sister Danielle was in town so a lot of us siblings met up there to see her. It was great to see everyone. I was a horrible picture taker. I have been horrible about it all summer. But it was a nice trip. It couldn't have come at a better time. The last couple weeks were really difficult. Greg needed to pass his qualifications for shooting and so 2 weekends in a row he spent hours at the shooting range along with a couple of reports to write, which takes hours as well. So for a few weeks, we didn't get that great relaxing, snuggly weekend. It basically sort of stunk. BUT HE PASSED HIS QUALIFICATIONS!!!! So no more practicing!!! Yay! At least, not for hours and hours. And there weren't any reports to write and he got off at 12pm instead of 5pm on Friday and I ended up staying an extra night, as well, so we got to spend a lot more time together- which was GREAT. I love him. Life is just better when he's in it. I can't wait for this 5 weeks to pass and he's just HOME. Even if it's CRAZY and he's working weird, annoying hours and we have a new baby at home- atleast HE'LL be home. That will be better.

I had to chuckle at the camping thing. Camping is not really my thing either. i will do it but I usually end up paranoid at night with possible animals around and I never sleep well. I also think it gets boring. On the other hand, the ocean is magical to me and I can be on the beach forever.
hah- camping. Oh dear.
Man- I am so sorry about the doc appt. That is so annoying and depressing. I hate when like, you just don't really know what's gonna happen. That pic of Miles and Greg is way cute. I love Miles. I'm so glad I got to be around him more. You are super cute pregnant! I love you in the tighter shirts like that pic cause it really shows off your belly:) In your looser shirts, it's obvious your pregnant, but you just don't see the defined pregnant belly- and I just think it's cute! I love you!!!
Camping is worse when you are pregnant because you are already uncomfortable. I am sorry! You are so cute!
Amen on the camping thing! My in-laws are also big campers and every year for the big annual camping trip I have to psych myself up for it...and it's still dirty, gross and boring.
Your pics are so cute and I love your denim skirt too. I need something like that because it would go with any shirt I wanted to wear.
Camping at 35 weeks doesn't even sound fun to me and I love to camp.
You look so great Megs, all just a cute belly. I love those pics, you'll be so glad you have them!
I'm glad you got some good quality time with Greg and the rest of your family, I'm sure you needed it. I'm so excited for you and will be praying for a safe, easy delivery for you.
Love you so much!!
The picture where you dont' look as pregnant- I was atleast that big before my surgery. I remember thinking that when I saw it the first time. camping- I wish it were my thing- but I hate everything that comes with it- the onyl thing I like is teh smores. I am sorry about your doc apt. but I feel like everything is going to be ok- even if you have to get a c section- it will be ok. it will all work out. And they will be ontop of everything because you'll see them twice a week, so that is good. it will be so nice when greg is home, even if the hours are weird. you guys are apart for so long. I laughed at your comment on my page- about the feminist- that is so stupid what she said- hahah- love you
I HATE tent camping, however I loved camping in the moterhome so maybe someday you will get one of those. At least you have your own potty, and it's not dirty. You can keep it pretty clean. The beds are pretty comfortable too. We had a pick-up camper also, and that wasn't bad. I just knew that some spider was gonna bite me when I was on the ground. I am sorry the doctor scared you. Just trust in the Lord Megan and everything will work out. Miles is way cute, and such a BOY!!! Crystal just loves them and babysitting them. Hugs and kisses
It's getting so close! I can't imagine camping while pregnant. Ugh. You look great. Cute maternity skirt! That sucks about your doctor appointment. I totally get the crying in a parking lot. I did the same thing when my doc told me I had a good chance of having a c-section.
Take care and stay off your feet!
PS: Are you going to the reunion?
I am so glad we talked today. You are such a trooper for going camping when you hate it so much. I love camping, but would never go when I'm 8 months pregnant! So excited to start on your bag. Love you.
I loved camping when I was younger. I don't know that I love it now, but I don't hate it. I just like real beds more. My mom made my dad get campers, and once a trailer. Maybe you will have to do that too. I loved our campers and trailer. And of course the Motor home. The motor home was a small one but still great.
I'm so sorry about your feet.
You are a brave woman to show those pics. I know Lizzie did it too, I don't know if I could have.
I'm with you on Miles, he is sooooo cute and so much fun. You just can't stop smiling when you look at him. Ruby and him are such good buds.
I was glad you came, love and miss you already.
I totally read this post a couple of days ago, but somehow missed the doctor appointment paragraph. maybe when i was scrolling down? Anyhow, i'm sorry they worried you. everything is already so worrisome with your first....for EVERYone. And then to have more worry on top of that. Soon the baby will be here and the worry will be over. I remember thinking with all of my babies toward the end, "she/he's alive right now, maybe we should just take them out now, and not risk something happening to them." But of course it's healthier for them to stay in. anyhow, i'm rambling. miss you. love you. i sent you a package of headbands today....i'm excited for you to get it. = )
Remember that Funny Game we played when we were camping? I thought you were gonna bust a gut laughing at Daniel and his BIG MOUTH with no teeth! I say if you hate camping then get a really big tent and the cushiest air mattress ever! don't skimp...it's the next best thing to a tent trailer. This year I brought my huge tent and it was like walking into a castle every night. I loved it. It's begin enough for 3 queen beds with walking space all around. Watch for sales this time of year too. I'm glad you came. Thanks for being such a good sport and playing games with us.
