Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The kids are both asleep which almost never happens- and I was all psyched to blog and now I've drawn a blank.

We've been SICK. It's been over 2 weeks. It is never ending. We are getting better each day, but it is a slow crawl. I hate it because everyone keeps asking if we want to do something later in the week, expecting us to get better, and judging by the last 2 weeks, I just know we're not gonna be past this in a few days. It's the worst! The kids are actually doing pretty well, it was the worst on me and Greg. But Greg got it a good week before me, so he's doing pretty well now. I'm almost there. We're just gettin' bored over here! Sitting around is only so fun for so long!

I didn't know if we'd make thanksgiving, but we did. I felt so bad. We literally walked in the door, right when dinner was supposed to begin. We were super late. We were all just feeling like crap all day so we were really dragging our feet.

The hosts wanted to keep their kids in school (not a local holiday here) so dinner was at 5:30. I was all disappointed at first, but it was actually just fine. And they used china! There were so many dishes left over!

I made the mashed potatoes, of course. I just can't bear mediocre potatoes. I just can't. But the peeling! Oh man, it gets worse every year.

So we were sent home with a pumpkin pie. I've never been a pumpkin pie person. Ever. But here it is and I was going to get some chocolate chips to nibble on and I saw the pie and thought, "I could give this a try. Maybe I DO like it, and just don't know it." Well, it's fine. But I don't think I'll have another piece. I don't understand what the big DEAL is about pumpkin pie. It's just not that great to me. It's so mushy. It's a bad texture. It should just be a pumpkin mash. I think I could get into that. But instead it's like mash on a pie crust. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Oh I'm getting tired. I'm so sick of being sick. And I'm so sick of saying it to myself. It is hard to feel useful when you're sick. It's hard to be happy when you're sick. It's hard to be a good mom when you don't have the energy. And all these things just get me depressed. I'm ready to move on and feel good again. I sort of forget that it's going to happen. I think I'm just going to always feel this way.

I need to get better quick because I have all these plans for the christmas holiday! December is 2 days away and I've been planning a small activity each day for the kids! I've been waiting for MONTHS to do this, been trying to plan the details when I don't feel like total crap- and now it's upon me! I don't want it to pass me by!

I'm tired. I'm going to go. BYE!

I'm sorry you are all so sick! Ugh that is the worst! I hope you can make it through Christmas without getting sick again! I feel like you guys have been sick a lot since getting there :(

Brighton is so cute in that picture.

I'm glad you did Thanksgiving! And I understand about the mashed potatoes. Peeling sucks though.

Pumpkin pie sucks. I have only ever liked pumpkin in bread and cookies. Everything else has been gross that I've tasted.

I made a gluten/sugar free apple pie and it turned out GREAT!

Alright, I love you. FEel better and rest up till you are well again.

I'm sorry you guys have all been feeling sick for so long. Being sick is one of the worst things. It just makes everything so hard.

What kind of stuff do you have lined up for the kids for Christmas? I'm finishing up my list of activities for us. It seems like November just flew by and now Christmas time has snuck up on us. It's crazy! We mailed off your gift at the end of October, so I hope it gets there in time!
